Sign PDFs – by hand or digitally
PDFnord supports both kinds of signature. For everyday use, place a visible handwritten signature with mouse, pen or touch. When proof matters, sign digitally with a certificate – every PDF reader can then tell whether the document was changed after signing.
A visible signature in seconds
- Choose the Sign tool.
- Draw your signature with mouse, pen or finger.
- Place it, adjust the size, save.
Digital signature with a certificate
- PKCS#7 signature with SHA-256, embedded in the PDF.
- Use certificates from the Windows certificate store or a self-created certificate.
- Visible signature field with name, date and reason – or an invisible signature.
- Any later change to the document makes the signature show as invalid.
Note: whether a signature is legally sufficient for a specific purpose (e.g. a qualified electronic signature under eIDAS) depends on the certificate used and the use case.
Everything stays on your computer
Your documents and certificates never leave your device. PDFnord signs locally – no uploads to third-party data centres.
